Why we can only offer HPE Server pricing on request starting March 1, 2026!
Anyone who has tried to purchase server hardware recently knows exactly what we are talking about. RAM prices that have multiplied since mid-2025. Delivery times that no one dares to predict anymore. A market situation that leaves even veteran buyers staring at their screens in disbelief.
So do we.
Due to the current market conditions, we can no longer offer fixed list prices for our three HPE-based models (Power Server, Performance Server, and High Performance Server) as of March 1. Instead, you can receive a quote from us at any time based on current daily rates.
What is happening right now
Since October 2025, DDR4 and DDR5 memory prices have risen to an extent that the industry considers a “structural shock.” This is not a short-term cycle or a temporary bottleneck. Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron have shifted their production capacities massively toward High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) for AI systems. What is being produced for GPU clusters is now missing from the rest of the market. OVHcloud estimates that the same server will cost up to 35% more by the end of 2026 than it did at the end of 2025 – and that is one of the more conservative forecasts.
How this affects our price list
Our HPE models utilize DDR5 RAM and SSD drives, both of which are heavily impacted by these massive price increases. Publishing a list price that we might not be able to honor by next week would simply be unprofessional.
Switching to project-based calculations on request means you get a price that reflects the actual market without us having to add a massive “risk buffer” on top.
Lite Plus Server, Basic Server, and Advanced Server will remain on the price list for now with only minor adjustments.
